Some news about current, past, and upcoming releases. Anime Toonz Volume 3: Kristine Sa CDs available after all It turns out the Anime Toonz Volume 3: Kristine Sa releases, thought to have been deep-sixed, saw limited release earlier this year after all, of a few hundred copies each. This is the third installment of the Anime Toonz release series, featuring remixes of anime themes. Volume 3's two editions ("Lemon" and "Lime") feature vocalist Kristine Sa working alongside remixers including DJ Jinnai, John Creamer, Bit Shifter and YMCK. Bit Shifter's remix of "Urusei Yatsura No Teema" appears as a "full vocal" version on the Lemon Edition, and as an instrumental version on the Lime. For more info, take a look at the Discography page, and for purchase, take a look at the Kristine Sa store. Maladroit Shares Capslock With Bit Shifter triple-split 12" EP coming soon Due any day is an incongruous but bad-ass triple-split vinyl 12" being released by Dutch label Ketacore Records, featuring two tracks each from Bit Shifter, Capslock, and Maladroit. Bit Shifter's contributions, "March Of The Nucleotides" and "Reformat The Planet" sit nervously between Capslock's and Maladroit's blistering breakcore, but hey sometimes it's good for the wimps to be shoulder-to-shoulder with allies in the tough-guy crowd. Due out sometime around end of September / early October. Bit Shifter's vinyl debut! Keep watch. 8-Bit Operators 12" and We're The Operators CD Kraftwerk tributes on the horizon Hot damn! Chiptune Kraftwerk tribute compilation We're The Operators and its companion multi-artist megamix 12" 8-Bit Operators are on the way, with the 12" tentatively scheduled for November, and the full compilation arriving in early 2006. Compiled and produced by Receptors' Jeremy Kolosine, this is going to be very cool. Stand by for more information. » Bit Shifter Discography section |
